'For Alice' comprises of ten large format 3 Dimensional Lenticular
Photographs, taken at the National Botanic Gardens, Dublin,
where it will be exhibited throughout June.
Here the subject is nature herself.
Everybody is now conscious of climate change and its subsequent
impact. One needs only to look at what has happened in Sichuan
China, New Orleans, the devastating effects of the tsunami
that swept through Southern Asia and East Africa. Our rainsforests
are rapidly diminishing. Our polar ice caps are melting. Our
environment and our world is changing. Our survival as a species
now depends on our ability to develop co-operative synergy
with nature and our planet, to learn from nature's effortless
efficiency, and cease destroying the very eco-system on which
our evolution relies.
The title reminds us of Alice in Wonderland. And the message
behind the exhibition is to remind us of the magic of nature,
to inspire the childlike wonder one first had when they really
looked a the bark of a tree or peered into a flower. We hope
For Alice inspires our own children to love nature and to
protect it moving forward.
Viewing a 3D Portal is not only a wonderful and inspiring
experience, it is also therapeutic. Gazing at a 3D Portal
expands awareness by stimulating the visual cortex and enhancing
spatial acuity.
I would like to thank my agent Helen Maguire for all her enthusiasm
energy and hard work in setting up this show and making it
happen. Thankyou.
